![]() My big ports generally have a few -loading time items stacked too, to speed things up.Many Anno 1800 beginners get confused with the concept of Trade Routes. Generally speaking I use cargo ships with a purple propeller for session-to-session shipping and clippers for internal shipping but I'm slowly replacing everything with airships which RULE. ![]() OW I - Beer Schnapps means it's shipping booze around the old world. Coffee comes from the new world, so the origin is obvious from the description. ![]() SoĬT - Coffee means taking coffee to the Cape. The research institute makes all these achievable without too much effort.įor naming, I have routes named with NW OW CT AR EN as the prefix for where they're headed, an I if it's internal and the goods as the name. There are ones that add chocolate output to the bakery, or switches brass requirement for glasses to wood, along with a production kicker. There's another chap that removes the need for pearls from jewelry that I have half an eye on. I have cap'n toby and mother of pearls sitting on 8 fisheries, with a clipper just dumping fish to Archibald nearby, and they generate all the pearls and tallow I could ever need, so need to produce/ship from elsewhere. I also can't recommend the specialists with "converts input" or "occasionally produces" enough, at least for my playstyle. I suspect at some point I'll make a dedicated coal/filaments/lightbulb island too, and I'm slowly spinning up OW coffee production so I can ship internally, at least to the Cape. ![]() However, at this point, I'm fairly able to generate the items I need to produce stuff locally - for example, I have a canned food island that only needs pigs and flour, and a fur capes island that needs furs and wool, so I don't need to worry too much about complex chains. I tend to use the biggest island as the hub - so if other islands have requirements, I ship everything to the main island, and then distribute from there, but I also do most of production on main islands, although I'm slowly starting to move stuff off. However, I'm never likely to need too much tobacco or cotton to Embesa, so I'm ok merging those. And scholars seem to just devour everything fast, so you'll probably want dedicated sanga cows/linen/tea/stew/etc from embesa for them (although I'm looking at replacing cows with pigs). Rum is another thing that needs dedicated resource. With 10k engineers recently (for research purposes) on top of that, I've had to add more ships to the coffee run, and one ship is starting to struggle for the Caoutchouc and chocolate. With ~5k investors, that wasn't enough coffee, so I split it out. Basically, stack items on a single ship until your demands require you split things, and it should be obvious what needs splitting.įor example, I had one ship doing coffee, caoutchouc and chocolate from NW to OW. 1+4+0+4 = 9).ĭefinitely overlap where possible, although at some point you'll need dedicated routes (and perhaps more than one ship per route) for at least some items.
